The Madras High Court has dismissed as withdrawn a petition by NDTV seeking a direction to prison authorities to permit the channel to interview Nalini, a life convict in the Rajiv Gandhi assassination case, and telecast it.

When the matter came up before Justice K.Venkataraman, the petitioner’s counsel made an endorsement that the writ petition may be dismissed as withdrawn.

Nalini had sent a telegram to the High Court stating that she had not given consent for an interview to any media.
