NDF leaders of Bodoland produced before TN court

When the police produced them in the court, the magistrate remanded them in custody till July 21.

The two National Democratic Front of Bodoland ‘deserters’ who were arrested on Thursday were produced before the Sulur Judicial Magistrate and remanded in Coimbatore Central Prison on Friday.

The Military Intelligence had picked up Upan Basumatarai (41) and Tikkaram Basumatarai (27) while they were returning to their accommodation near workplace in Sithanaickenpalayam, near Sulur. The Sulur police had registered cases under Section 20 read with 38 of the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act.

When the police produced them in the court, Magistrate C. Vediyappan remanded them in custody till July 21.
