NBW issued for Zakir Hussain’s accomplice

A Metropolitan Magistrate Court here on Tuesday issued a non-bailable warrant against an accomplice of Zakir Hussain, the suspected ISI operative who was arrested here on April 29.

The XIII Metropolitan Magistrate Court in Egmore issued the warrant against Mohammed Hussain, who has been arrested in Malaysia.

It was sought when Zakir Hussain was produced in the court for extension of his remand till June 10.

The police sought permission for verifying Zakir Hussain’s handwriting and took his signature, sources said. Zakir’s request to speak to his pregnant wife in Sri Lanka was denied.

After his arrest, Zakir was produced before a magistrate who remanded him in judicial custody. On May 5, he was sent to police custody till May 8.

On May 13, his remand was extended by 15 days through videoconferencing at the Egmore court.
