The State government has sent Mysuru silk dhoti and shirt as gifts to U.S. President Barack Obama, who will be the chief guest at the Republic Day celebrations, said D. Basavaraj, chairman of the Karnataka Silk Industries Corporation.
Addressing reporters here on Friday, he said the corporation has sent saris, scarves and dress materials to First Lady Michelle Obama, along with traditional idols of Channapatna.
The materials were despatched to New Delhi on Thursday.
