June 18, 2016 12:00 am | Updated October 18, 2016 02:16 pm IST - Nagercoil:

State government pensioners and family pensioners, who have been drawing pension through district treasury and sub-treasuries in the district, have been directed to appear for annual mustering at the concerned treasury or sub-treasury on any working day by June 30.

A release issued by the District Treasury Officer said the pensioners should bring their pension payment order book, bank passbook, indicating the core banking savings account number, PAN card, ration card and Aadhaar card (if available).

Family pensioners should produce non-remarriage certificate, along with these documents. The pensioners, who were unable to appear in person, could send life certificate along with copies of the documents. The life certificate should be attested by the bank manager of the pension receiving branch, gazetted officers of the State or Central governments or officers in the rank of Tahsildar, Deputy Tahsildar or Revenue Inspector.

The pensioners, who were abroad, could send life certificate duly certified by a Magistrate, notary public, banker or diplomatic representative.

The pensioners should also intimate the present residential address, mobile phone number and e-mail address. Payment of pension would be stopped from August to those who failed to appear for the annual mustering or those who failed to furnish the life certificate on or before June 30. The format of the life certificate and non-remarriage certificate could be downloaded from www.tn.gov.in./karuvoolam. Those who were yet to get Health Insurance Card could approach the concerned pension office, the release added.
