Murugan produced in court

V. Sriharan alias Murugan, one of the life convicts in Rajiv Gandhi assassination case lodged in Vellore Central Prison, was produced at the Vellore judicial magistrate I court on Monday in connection with a case relating to his alleged possession of mobile phones inside the prison.

A prison official allegedly seized two mobile phones, three SIM cards and a charger from Murugan’s cell on March 25.

His friends and family members have been barred from visiting him at the prison for three months following the alleged seizure.

The magistrate posted the case for May 25.
