Move to transfer official flayed

More than 150 members of Tamil Nadu Rural Development Officials Association thronged the collector’s camp office here on Sunday condemning oral relieving order issued to personal assistant (Development).

They charged that government has been harassing straightforward officers in order to appoint officers who were working in favour of government in key posts keeping in mind the forthcoming local body polls.

Personal Assistant Sekar, who got transfer from Tirupur district, had been working as PA (Development) to Collector for the past 29 days. Suddenly, he was relieved from his post last night. He had received instructions through telephone. No order was issued in this connection. He was under compulsory wait list.

Led by association state general secretary P. Krishnasamy, officials met Collector T.G. Vinay and urged him to cancel the order. The Collector assured to look into the issue.
