August 27, 2012 07:09 pm | Updated 07:09 pm IST - DHARMAPURI:

Family problems including financial constraints, forced a woman commit suicide near Dharmapuri on Sunday night.

According to police, S. Deepa (22) was vexed over the sufferings of her husband Shankar who was not keeping good health for over six months. Shankar a daily wage earner was not able to go for work for the last six months.

Vexed over this, Deepa took the extreme decision to commit suicide. She set herself on fire by pouring kerosene on Sunday night when her husband had gone to a nearby shop.

On seeing her mother screaming, the 5-year-old Sripriya hugged her and sustained severe burn injuries. Neighbours immediately shifted both the mother and the child to the Government Medical College Hospital in Dharmapuri but in vain. Deepa died on the way to hospital, whereas Sripriya died at the hospital later. Adhiyamaankottai police have registered a case and are investigating.
