A total of 17,854 candidates in the district would take Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC) examination to be held on Sunday and 920 officials had been deputed for conducting it, said Collector N. Venkatachalam.
Talking to press persons here on Friday, he said that the TNPSC would conduct written examinations for Group VII and other categories in various government departments. The examination would be conducted at 35 centres. A total of 61 chief examination supervisors, 61 inspectors to assist them, and 894 supervisors had been deputed.
Besides, four flying squads led by an officer in the rank of sub-collector and 11 mobile teams had also been formed. One flying squad would cover five centres. Adequate security would be provided in each centre. Two constables were posted for each centre for security duty. Seventy police personnels were deputed for this purpose.
Besides, 11 mobile police patrol teams had been formed to carry question and answer books to all examination centres from the district treasury and bring them back safely.
The chief supervisors would collect question papers three hours before the start of the examination. The supervisors would allow candidates into the exam hall till 10.30 a.m. The morning session would begin at 10 a.m. and conclude at 1 p.m. Similarly, for the 2.30 p.m. to 5.30 p.m. evening session, candidates would be allowed to enter the hall till 3 p.m.
Video cameras would be fitted in all entre to monitor activities. Thirty-six video cameras would be used for the purpose, the Collector said.
