Finance Minister O. Panneerselvam on Sunday met those who were injured in an accident on Bodi Ghat Road on Saturday night at Government Theni Medical College Hospital where they were admitted to and consoled them.

He advised doctors to provide quality treatment for the accident victims. Later, he interacted with the injured and their family members.

Of the 16 injured, eight persons went home after treatment in Bodi and six others were under treatment in Theni Government Medical College Hospital. Two persons were referred to Madurai Government Rajaji Hospital.

Sixteen estate workers, all from Sundararajapuram in Bodi block, were injured when the jeep they were travelling in overturned on Bodi Ghat Road while they were returning home from an estate in Santhamparai village in Idukki district in Kerala.

Later, the Finance Minister inaugurated an autorickshaw stand constructed a cost of Rs. 38 lakh in Bodi. A total of 3,118 square feet of concrete floor was laid in the new auto stand to park 69 autos. The stand was covered with irons grills.
