April 14, 2016 12:00 am | Updated 05:35 am IST - NAMAKKAL:

To create an awareness among electors and ensure 100 per cent polling, a mini marathon was held here on Tuesday.

It was flagged off by Awareness Observer Manish Gautham. District Election Officer V. Dakshinamoorthy was present. Over 500 students, general public, volunteers, and athletes participated. They wore dresses carrying the message on the need to vote without receiving money or gifts.

Participants were given certificates.

Participants took a pledge that they will ensure 100 per cent polling. A cultural programme that encourages electors to vote was held at the Collectorate.
