Mexican film festival gets under way

It will be held till March 28 at Alliance Francaise of Madras

The Mexican film festival, organised by the Embassy of Mexico in India, Honorary Consulate of Mexico in Chennai and Indo-Cine Appreciation Foundation, was inaugurated in the city on Monday.

The festival, scheduled to be held till March 28 at Alliance Francaise of Madras, was inaugurated by Santiago Ruy Sanchez, head, Culture and Tourism Embassy of Mexico in India. Speaking at the event, he said that Mexico and India, especially Chennai, have a lot of things in common, including their love for cinema.

The festival will showcase the following movies — Pura Sangre, Viento Aparte, Seguir Viviendo, Enamorandome De Abril and La Extinction De Los Dinosaurios .

Ramkumar Varadarajan, Honorary Consul of Mexico in Chennai, and cine artiste Aditi Balan were present at the inauguration.
