The Central Excise and Service Tax Commissionerate here has made arrangements to enable taxpayers to meet heads of all departments without prior appointment between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. on Wednesdays as part of its ‘Good Governance’ initiative.
In a statement, Commissioner, Central Excise and Service Tax, Tirunelveli, B.V.V.T. Prasad Naik, said the move followed the Centre’s emphasis on reform-oriented non-adversarial tax administration.
Initiatives
Several initiatives were being taken to simplify procedures and reduce interface between officials and tax payers, Mr. Naik said.
