Meet all voters, says Ramadoss

February 16, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:35 am IST - SALEM:

Pattali Makkal Katchi founder S. Ramadoss has called upon his party men to meet all the voters in the State and explain to them the need for a change in the government after the 2016 Assembly election.

Responsible opposition

Addressing the party’s special general body meeting in Salem on Sunday, he said the party had succeeded in highlighting the problems of the people in the past 26 years. Though not in power, the PMK had served as a responsible opposition, Dr. Ramadoss added. Commending the party workers for their contribution, he asked them to meet every elector in the State. ‘‘Explain to them why change is needed and what for a change is needed. This will bring about change easily,” he added.

Change

Dharmapuri MP and former Union minister Anbumani Ramadoss said people of the State were desperately looking for change and expecting the PMK to rule the State from next year.

Ideology

“The State is losing its rights over many vital issues. Karnataka has invited tenders to construct new dam at Mekedatu in River Cauvery. The State government does not seem to be worried.” It was essential for the party to take its ideology to the people, especially the youth.

Party president G.K. Mani, senior leader ‘Kaduvetti’ J. Guru, MLA, former Union ministers A.K. Moorthy, R. Velu, were among the others who spoke.
