PMK leader S. Ramadoss, party president G.K.Mani and Vanniyar Sangam leader Katuvetti J. Guru have been asked to appear before the Commissioner of Revenue Administration on July 1 for an inquiry in connection with the damage caused to public property in the wake of violent incidents in Marakkanam and elsewhere in the state.
The three leaders have received three different voluminous documents holding them responsible for different types of violence and claiming compensation from them. Stoning and burning of buses, damage caused to retail liquor shops run by TASMAC and loss caused to the State exchequer due to suspension of bus services are some of the allegations against the three leaders. There are many First Information Reports and all three leaders have been included in one report or the other along with the PMK men.
The three leaders should appear in person or through their counsel.
“We will face the charges legally and prove that the allegations are baseless,” PMK youth wing leader and former Union Minister Anbumani Ramadoss told The Hindu .
