Those appearing for the SSLC exam as private candidates, for the first time, in March 2017, need to register their names with the concerned District Education Office for practical classes (science).

According to a release from the education department, attending practicals for science has been made mandatory for the private candidates who appear for all the papers for the first time. The candidates have to download a form from the department of government exams website (dge.tn.gov.in). They have to take two photocopies of the filled in form and submit them at the concerned DEO office on or before June 30. The DEO in turn would allot a particular school for practicals.

“Only those private candidates who have 80 per cent of attendance at the practical classes would be allowed to appear for the final practical exams. The exam applications too would be rejected ” the release added.

Those who have failed in SSLC before 2012 and planning to apply for science paper as per the new curriculum would be required to register their names for practicals. However, those who have failed in science in their previous attempts need not attend the practical classes, sources added.
