August 06, 2016 12:00 am | Updated 08:05 am IST - RAJAPALAYAM:

In a shocking incident, a family of three were found dead under mysterious circumstances here on Friday.

Police said that Sendilkumar (39), who was working in Gulf for about seven years had returned home a year ago and started his own business including real estate. He owned a farm and lived with his wife Sangeswari (35) and daughter Devadarshini (6).

It was suspected that Sendilkumar incurred loss in business and had borrowed money to build his new home in the town. Unable to repay the debt, the circumstances suggested that he had administered poison to his wife and daughter and subsequently hanged himself to death in his rented home in Senguttuvan Street, Duraisamipuram.

The matter came to light, when Sendilkumar’s brother Pothiraj, who was also residing in the same locality, did not see Sendilkumar, who usually comes to draw potable water from the public tap. When he went to check, he was shocked to see Sendilkumar hanging. When the police was alerted, a team came and broke open the doors and recovered the three bodies.

Rajapalayam south police have registered a case and it is said that a letter written by Sendilkumar was seized from the scene of crime.

He had cited the loss in business as the reason for ending his life and poisoning his wife and daughter, a senior police officer, who was monitoring the investigations said.
