A 55-year old man was killed and 15 others, including Kodaikanal Municipal Chairman Mohammad Ibrahim and councillor Mohan, were injured, when the dais at a function to distribute colour televisions on Government Higher Secondary School ground here collapsed on Sunday.
He was identified as Jabber of Kodaikanal town.
Police said that the incident was a fallout of several people climbing on to the dais to take refuge from sudden showers. Some others took cover under the stage.
