Man held under Bootleggers Act

Tuticorin Prohibition and Enforcement Wing busted a most wanted offender, D. Balu alias Balasubramanian (39) of Mariamman Kovil Street, Kumanthamedu, Cuddalore here on Tuesday. Under the supervision of Additional Superintendent of Police, D. Kandasamy, a team led by Inspector of Police P.K. Ravi nabbed the offender during a raid. He was detained under the Bootleggers Act. Investigations revealed that he was involved in making and peddling spurious liquor, illegally. Thirteen cases of prohibition violations had been booked against him since 2011 in various districts, police sources said.
