Kayathar police are on the lookout for a 45-year-old drunk, who allegedly murdered his wife on Thursday night.
The police said that Ramasamy, a casual labourer of Anna Nagar Colony near Chettikurichi under Kayathar police station limits, used to pick quarrels with his wife Kuttiyammal (42) under the influence of liquor every day. When he came to his house on Thursday night in an inebriated condition, Kuttiyammal asked him to stop consuming alcohol. Agitated over this, Ramasamy hacked Kuttiyammal with a sickle, killing her on the spot, and escaped, the police said.
