A man was found dead with his throat slit near Pothakalanvilai under Thattarmadam police limits on Tuesday.
The deceased was identified to be L. Hariraman (35) of Vairavan Pudukudi.
Sources said Hariraman’s brother-in-law S. Ganesan (36) of Seidunganallur was suspected to have killed him.
Ganesan and Hariraman often quarrelled under the influence of alcohol as Hariraman beat up his pregnant wife suspecting her fidelity.
Irked over Hariraman’s behaviour, sources said Ganesan, the woman’s brother, might have killed him. However, Ganesan was absconding.

Thattarmadam police have filed a case under Section -302 of IPC. Investigations are on.
