Madras HC directive to Tangedco

August 01, 2014 02:02 pm | Updated 02:02 pm IST - CHENNAI:

The Madras High Court on Thursday directed power utility Tangedco not to finalise a bid/tender for the 2X660 MW Ennore SEZ Supercritical Thermal Power Project till the representations of a consortium were considered by the authorities.

Justice M. Sathyanarayanan said the Tangedco authorities were expected to act fairly and reasonably.

Tangedco stated that the representations would be considered while finalising the tenders and appropriate orders would be passed strictly as per the tender specifications and the Transparency in Tenders Act. The judge said the Tangedco, being a State agency, was under obligation to do so.
