“Labour welfare boards paralysed”

May 27, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:36 am IST - DINDIGUL:

Labour welfare boards in the State had been completely paralysed, complained Loadmen Association State president Gunasekaran.

Addressing the 8{+t}{+h}district-level conference of the Loadmen Association here on Tuesday, he said that Tamil Nadu should follow Kerala in disbursing welfare aid to labourers.

The Central and State governments did not deduct PF and ESI to workers of warehouses and godowns under their control. Labour welfare benefits should be doubled, he insisted.

A State-level conference will be held in Madurai on August 16 and 17 pressing these demands.
