Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam president and Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi on Friday reiterated the need for unity among his party members.
Addressing functionaries of the Tuticorin district unit of the party, Mr Karunanidhi referred to the presence of a few groups in the district and said the party district secretary N. Periasamy and Tiruchendur Member of Legislative Assembly Anitha R. Radhakrishnan, [who was earlier in the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam before joining the DMK last year], should work together and safeguard the interests of the party. Among those present at the consultation were K. Anbazhagan, general secretary; M.K. Stalin, treasurer; M.K. Alagiri, southern zone organising secretary; Durai Murugan, deputy general secretary; and Arcot N. Veeraswami, principal secretary of the party.
