DMK's general council on Friday re-elected party leader M. Karunanidhi as the president for the 11th time. Mr K. Anbazhagan and M.K. Stalin were re-elected as general secretary and treasurer respectively. Party MP Kanimozhi has been made the secretary of the women's wing.
Former Minister and Deputy General-Secretary Duraimurugan has been elevated as principal secretary in the place of Arcot N. Veerasamy. while former ministers Subbulakshmi Jagadeesan, S.P. Sargunapandian, V.P. Duraisamy and I. Periyasami were nominated as deputy general secretaries.
