The Kanyakumari-Mumbai Express train (Train No: 6382) hit a boulder at Koolipalayam along the Tirupur-Uthukuli stretch on Monday night.
A metal guard fitted in front of the engine threw the stone away, Railway sources told The Hindu. This was the second incident that occurred in a week. So far, five persons had been arrested in connection with similar incidents reported between June 1 and December 12.
