Kamal may move SC today

January 31, 2013 03:11 am | Updated November 17, 2021 04:37 am IST - NEW DELHI:

Actor Kamal Haasan is likely to move the Supreme Court on Thursday against the order of a Division Bench of the Madras High Court which set aside a single judge’s ruling that stayed the ban on his film Vishwaroopam in Tamil Nadu.

On Tuesday, a single judge gave relief to the actor, but the State government appealed against the order, which a Division Bench quashed on Wednesday.

The actor will file a special leave petition on Thursday morning. His lawyers are expected to make an urgent ‘mention’ before Chief Justice of India Altamas Kabir for an urgent hearing of the matter.
