Rajinikanth’s Kaala , which was originally scheduled to release on April 27, will now release on June 7. This would mean that the 2018 summer is not likely to have a big Tamil release.
Actor and producer Dhanush’s Wunderbar Films, which has produced the film, announced the date on Twitter. The film industry strike, which lasted for 48 days, is deemed responsible for the postponement of the release of Kaala.
The strike has resulted in piling up of movies. The Tamil Film Producers Council president Vishal said that movies will have to be scheduled ahead and all producers and theatre owners must stick to the schedule.
