Jewels stolen from temple

Gold jewels were stolen from Chamundeeswari Amman temple in Keel Villivalam village near Vandavasi.

According to the police, the priest of the temple Ayyanarappan locked the temple after daily poojas on Friday.

Broken into

When he went to the temple on Saturday morning, the locks on the main gate and the entrance of the sanctum sanctorum were allegedly found broken.

On receiving information the Keel Kodungalur police immediately reached the village.

They inspected the site and investigations revealed that six sovereigns of jewellery were missing from the idols of presiding deity and the utsavar idol.
