The Karnataka High Court on Monday adjourned to Wednesday further hearing of an appeal by the former Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu and AIADMK general secretary, J. Jayalalithaa, against a Special Court order dismissing her application relating to translation of Tamil documents into English in the disproportionate assets case.

In her petition, Ms. Jayalalithaa said the 36th Sessions Court (Special Court), Bangalore, on June 22, dismissed her application questioning the translation of documents.

She said the Special Court had failed to take note that the translated documents were incorrect, inaccurate and they did not reflect the true and faithful stage of the trial when it was held in Tamil Nadu.

She urged the High Court to quash the Special Court order and ensure that the documents were translated afresh.

The case pertained to investigation by the Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption (DVAC), Chennai, against Ms. Jayalalithaa and others.
