Jayalalithaa to contest from R.K. Nagar

The AIADMK has announced that Chief Minister Jayalalithaa is the party's candidate for the R.K. Nagar Assembly bypolls.

A decision to this effect was taken at the AIADMK Parliamentary Board meeting here, Ms. Jayalalithaa said in a party statement.

The DMK and PMK have decided to opt out from the electoral fray.

The election will be held on June 27 and the filing of nomination begins on June 3.
