Jayalalithaa only alternative to Karunanidhi: Cho

January 15, 2011 01:07 am | Updated November 17, 2021 05:33 am IST - Chennai:

The Editor of Thuglaq , ‘Cho' S. Ramaswamy, on Friday asserted that All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) general secretary Jayalalithaa is the only alternative to Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) president and Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi.

The DMK should be voted out of power for “corruption and poor governance,” he added.

Speaking at the 41{+s}{+t} anniversary of his magazine, he launched a scathing attack on the governance of the DMK. He said Ms. Jayalalithaa was an excellent administrator, had charisma and was endowed with determination to discharge her duties with an iron hand, if necessary. “She taught an excellent lesson to the government employees who went on strike.”

Though AIADMK had around 30 to 35 per cent votes, much more than the DMK, “it would be safe to have a good alliance as the votes won't get split”.

He appealed to Desiya Murpokku Dravida Kazhagam leader Vijayakant to realise the situation and align with Ms. Jayalalithaa.
