ITI counselling schedule

The counselling for admission into the four Government Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) functioning in the district for the academic year 2016-17 will be held from July 11 – 16 at the Government ITI at Gorimedu in the city.

The Department of Employment and Training is running Government ITI, Gorimedu, Government ITI for Women, Gorimedu, both in the city; Government ITI at Mettur and Government ITI exclusively for ST candidates (co-education) in Karumanthurai village in Attur taluk.

Applications were received recently for admission into the various courses offered by the Government ITI (12 trades), Government ITI for Women (eight trades), Government ITI, Mettur (seven trades) and Government IT for ST candidates (5 trades).

These ITIs offered two-year and one-year courses in various trades and the basic qualification for admission is pass in standard X and standard VIII.

According to a press release from R. Rajendran, Deputy Director of Training and Employment and Principal, Government ITI, Gorimedu, counselling for the special category students will be held on July 11.

The following is the counselling schedule for other candidates:

July 11: Morning session: For the girls of class VIII with marks between 93.5 and 25 per cent;

evening session: For girls who had cleared class X with marks tally between 99 and 75 per cent.

July 12: Morning session: Girls of class X with a marks tally between 74 and 58 per cent; evening: Girls of class X with marks tally between 57 and 35 per cent.

July 13: Morning session: Boys and girls of class VIII in general category with marks tally between 100 per cent and 62.5 per cent; evening: For boys and girls of class VIII in general category with marks between 62 and 50 per cent.

July 14: Morning: For boys and girls of standard X with marks between 99 and 82.5 per cent; evening: Boys and girls of class X with marks between 82 and 75.5 per cent.

July 15: Morning: Boys and girls of class X with marks between 75 and 71 per cent; evening: For boys and girls of class X with marks between 70.5 and 67.5 per cent.

July 16: Morning: Boys and girls of class X with marks between 67 and 65 per cent;

evening: Boys and girls with marks between 64.5 and 62.5 per cent.

The morning session counselling will commence by 8 a.m. and the evening session at 2 p.m.

The call letters have already been sent to all the applicants, the release added.
