I-T search at Agri Gold offices

January 23, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:48 am IST - VIJAYAWADA:

Officials of the Income-Tax Department on Thursday conducted searches at three offices of Agri Gold in the city to verify documents. “It’s a routine verification as several depositors complained about the delay in refunding their amounts. We are verifying all the documents relating to financial transactions,” a senior I-T official told The Hindu . He said more details about the company’s affairs could be known once the examination of the documents was done.

The development comes in the light of the State government’s decision to transfer the investigation into the alleged irregularities of the company to the Crime Investigation Department (CID). The police had searched the company’s office in Nellore and its chairman’s house in Vijayawada and seized the records.
