International conference

An international conference on ‘Recent Advances in Engineering, Science and Technology – ICON ’15,’ organised by the Department of Biomedical Engineering, was held on the Noorul Islam University campus recently.

Dr. Sathyajit Ghosh, ICAS Associate, School of Earth and Environment University Leeds, the UK, inaugurated the conference.

Dr. A.P. Majeed Khan, Chancellor of NIU, presided. Out of 536 research papers, 156 papers were selected and allowed to be presented at the conference, and the selected papers were published in the referred journals.

Springer international conference on ‘Soft Computing System - ICSCS-2015,’ organised by the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering of the Noorul Islam University, was held recently. The theme for the conference was to foster the application of new perspectives, challenges of soft computing algorithms.

Dr. S. Kaliappan, former Vice-Chancellor, Anna University, Dr. M. Abdul Rahiman, Pro-Vice Chancellor, Kerala Technological University, were the chief guests. Dr. AP. Majeed Khan, Chancellor, NIU, presided and inaugurated the conference.

Golden jubilee celebrations

The golden jubilee of Holy Cross College (Autonomous), Nagercoil, was celebrated for three days on the college campus recently. Kottar Bishop Rev. Peter Remigius inaugurated the celebrations. Dr. Sr. Gerardin Jayam welcomed the gathering.

Dr. K. Sivan, Director, Liquid Propulsion System Centre, ISRO, Trivandrum, and Dr. A.K. Kumaraguru, Vice-Chancellor, Manonmaniam Sundaranar University, Tirunelveli, jointly released the golden jubilee souvenir and documentary.
