A departmental inquiry would be initiated against a Railway Protection Force (RPF) head constable who was allegedly caught accepting bribe by a railway vigilance team at the Golden Rock Railway Workshop here on Tuesday.

Railway sources said the vigilance team from Chennai sent a materials supplier as a decoy to the workshop through the West Gate entrance where head constable Ramasamy was posted. The sources said the head constable accepted Rs.300 from the supplier apparently to allow the vehicle inside the workshop. The vigilance team that was following the supplier conducted a search on the head constable immediately after he took the bribe money and seized it.

A departmental enquiry would be conducted against the head constable to initiate further action against him, the sources added.
