The Indian Bank Employees Association affiliated to Bank Employees Federation of India (BEFI) observed fast here on Saturday to demand the bank administration to fill the vacancies.

In the fasting agitation held in front of the Collectorate the protesters focused on the vacancies that remain unfilled in good numbers in the categories of clerks, office assistants and part time sweepers.

They also expressed concern on mistakes committed due to mounting work pressure in customer service and resultant disciplinary actions which end up usurping chances of promotion for some employees of the bank.
