AIADMK Rajya Sabha MP Sasikala Pushpa on Saturday claimed she slapped DMK Rajya Sabha MP ‘Tiruchy’ Siva at the Delhi airport because “he exceeded all limits while criticising Amma (Jayalalithaa) and her government.”

“How do you expect me to remain a mute spectator,” she told The Hindu over phone when asked whether she slapped him.

Ms. Pushpa claimed she and Mr. Siva were waiting for the security clearance when he was levelling allegations against Chief Minister Jayalalithaa. “He became very vocal at one point and I slapped him,” she said, and alleged that her house was attacked after the incident.

“I returned home and witnessed windows being broken in stone throwing,” she said. Mr. Siva could not be reached over phone for his comments.
