“Hike bonus for policy holders”

Pressing for a 16-point charter of demands, Life Insurance Corporation agents from Tuticorin, Tirunelveli and Kanyakumari districts staged a demonstration near LIC office building in Tirunelveli on Saturday.

Chakaravarthy Raju, president, LIC Agents Federation of India, Tirunelveli Division, who led the agitation, said bonus for policy premium payers should be increased and service tax on premium scrapped.

Commission charges for the LIC agents should be hiked. Besides, income tax levied on the LIC premium policy on maturity should not be deducted and it should be withdrawn.
