The Madras High Court Bench here on Thursday closed the anticipatory bail plea of Desiya Murpokku Dravida Kazhagam (DMDK) president A. Vijayakant after the government advocate submitted that no FIR was registered against him yet.

Mr Vijayakant had moved the court apprehending arrest by the Kanyakumari police following a commotion at the district sessions court in Kanyakumari district.

Mr Vijayakant claimed that the Kottar police had booked him under Sections 147, 447, 323, 353, 427 and 506 (i) of the Indian Penal Code based on a complaint given by the public prosecutor of the district sessions court, Kanyakumari.

He alleged that the advocates belonging to AIADMK assaulted him and his party advocates at the court. On Thursday when the case was heard by Justice R. Mala, the government advocates submitted that no complaint has been registered against the DMDK president in the alleged incident so far.
