A history-sheeter facing several criminal cases has been detained under Goondas Act. A statement from the Tirunelveli City police said K. Soundar (28) alias Elava from Paaraiyadi in Tirunelveli Town was arrested recently as he was allegedly involved in several cases including murder, attempt to murder, threatening the public in Suththamalli, Maanur, Tirunlveli Town and Pettai police station limits. Commissioner of Police Sumit Sharan ordered his detention under the Goondas Act based on the recommendation by Deputy Commissioner of Police (Law and Order) T.P. Suresh Kumar and ACP C.P. Kandasamy.
