Held for breaking into finance firm

V. Jaikumar (44) of Veerakeralam was

arrested by the Annur Police on Thursday for allegedly breaking into a finance firm on Sathy Road. Police sources said that S. Hariharan (32), cashier of the firm located on the first floor of a building, locked the shop and went for tea on Thursday evening.

On returning, he saw the accused tampering the shutter lock with an

iron rod.

Though the accused jumped from the first floor and tried to escape, Hariharan and his friend Murali nabbed him and

handed him over to the police.

A case has been registered against the accused. He has been lodged in judicial custody.
