Despite the slight dip in day temperatures, there was no respite for people across Telangana from the blazing heat on Monday.

The heat wave continued to take toll with unconfirmed reports indicating that as many as 47 people had lost their lives on Monday alone. This takes the total number of deaths past 200 in the last one week.

Indian Meteorological Department forecast said heat wave conditions would prevail over some parts of Adilabad, Warangal, Khammam, Nalgonda, Nizamabad and Karimnagar.

The Met department release said on Sunday that maximum temperatures fell at one or two places in the State. The highest maximum temperature of 46 degrees Celsius was recorded at Hanamkonda.

On Monday, Ramagundam in Karimnagar recorded maximum day temperature of 44.8 degrees Celsius followed by Nizamabad, which registered 44.4 degrees Celsius. Hyderabad also sizzled at 41.5 degrees Celsius.
