Health official inspects hospital

Principal Secretary of Health and Family Welfare J. Radhakrishnan conducted a surprise inspection at Government Medical College Hospital here on Monday.

He inspected the neonatal care and maternity wards among others.

He enquired with patients about the care given by doctors and went through the medical reports.

He asked the officials about precautionary measures being taken by the health staff to prevent dengue outbreak in the town.

Dean A. Edwin Joe, Deputy Director of Health Services S. Uma and Resident Medical Officer Silas Jeyamani were present during the visit.

Meeting today

The Principal Secretary is scheduled to chair a review meeting in Tirunelveli on Tuesday with Collectors and health department staff of Tuticorin, Tirunelveli and Kanyakumari districts.
