The Chief Operating Officer of Sun TV Network Ltd., Hansraj Saxena, has filed a petition before the court of the Principal Sessions Judge here seeking bail in a case relating to alleged cheating of a film producer.

The allegation was that the producer of the film “Theeradha Vilaiyattu Pillai” was cheated to the tune of Rs.82.53 lakh. Mr.Saxena was arrested on July 3.

In his bail petition, Mr.Saxena said the case projected by the prosecution was false and concocted. He moved an application for bail before XXIII Metropolitan Magistrate, Saidapet and it was dismissed on July 8. He prayed the court to enlarge him on bail.

Meanwhile, Justice G.Rajasuria of the Madras High Court on Wednesday granted anticipatory bail to Mohammed Sadiq of Kottivakkam, K.Sasikumar of Padi and V.Thambidurai of Velachery, who apprehended arrest in the case.

The petitioners submitted that the complaint against them was false and vexatious. Granting advance bail to the three, Mr.Justice Rajasuria said the three should execute bond for Rs.10,000, furnish two sureties and stay in Madurai. They should report at the Tallakulam police station daily.
