In an effort to increase the pass percentage, the Department of School Education has prepared a handbook on model questions for the benefit of those preparing for the SSLC and Plus Two public examinations.

The handbook contains important questions, which were frequently asked in the public examinations conducted over the last five years. It has outlined the basic information on question papers and the easy way for preparing students to do well in the examinations. It has been prepared by a group of experienced teachers, who deal with SSLC and Plus Two subjects.

N. Subramanian, Minister for Adi Dravida Welfare, released the handbook at a function here on Wednesday.

He said that it would help the average students to improve their tally in the examinations. The students should utilise the opportunity. It would ultimately improve the overall pass percentage in the State as well as the district.

V. Senthil Balaji, Minister for Transport, said that although the district had been doing well in education, the hand book was aimed at improving the pass percentage. It had come in handy for poor students.

The hand book would be supplied to all SSLC and Plus Two students, who were expected to write public examinations shortly.

Collector S. Jayandhi said 27,500 copies were printed for distribution. It included 16,000 copies for SSLC students. T. Thiruvalarselvi, Chief Educational Officer, said the books would be distributed within two days. The Headmasters and other educational officers had been asked to explain the benefits of using handbooks on questions.
