Guidelines for idol immersion

The district administration has issued guidelines to be followed for idol immersion during Vinayaka Chathurthi celebrations.

Only idols made of raw clay, and without chemical paints should be used for immersion in water bodies. Baked idols, and those having toxic or chemical paints should not be immersed in water bodies, said a release here.
