All necessary support will be extended to entrepreneurs willing to establish industries in Thanjavur.

The administration will facilitate expeditious and hassle-free functioning of industrial units so that both the investors and the public will benefit, Collector N. Subbaiyan said here on Monday.

Addressing an awareness meet on the Central Government’s flagship insurance, pension and mudra schemes aimed at benefitting the poor, senior citizens and entrepreneurs, he said the State Government was intent on providing all facilities to the industrial sector so that job generation potential multiplies immensely.

The Pradhan Mandtri Mudra Yojana sought to extend financial support to micro, small and medium enterprises to those willing to take up their own venture.

Along with the Centrally sponsored schemes, entrepreneurs could bank on the State Government and the district administration for industrializing this district.

He observed that the Atal Pension Yojana would be of immense help to senior citizens in their hour of need while the insurance scheme would help even the below poverty line people get insurance cover with a small premium.

The Syndicate Bank, the coordinating bank for Thanjavur district with regard to popularising the scheme, organised the meet in association with commercial banks, insurance companies and Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI).

Syndicate Bank Assistant General Manager Manivannan, Indian Overseas Bank AGM S. Chandrasekaran, SIDBI AGM Senthil Kumar, United India Insurance Senior Divisional Manager V. Jayaraj, Life Insurance Corporation of India Divisional Manager C. Sridharan, NABARD District Development Manager Subramanian and Lead District Manager V. Balasubramanian spoke.
