Over 45,000 voters in the district have submitted applications for inclusion, deletion, correction, change of details in the entries or change of addresses within the constituency.
In view of the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, the authorities are carrying out a month-long revision of draft poll roll to include new voters, who will attain 18 years of age on January 1, 2014, and those who have failed to include their names earlier (Form 6) and to give a chance to others for making deletions (Form 7), corrections to details with regard to name, age, sex, date of birth and photograph (Form 8). Change of addresses within the constituency (Form 8A) is also allowed.

A total of 38,646 applications were received for inclusion of names, 5,077 applications for corrections, 1,496 applications for change of address within the constituency and 156 applications for deletion of names. The total number of applications received was 45,375.
Of the seven Assembly constituencies in the district, Sivakasi topped the list of applications received with 11,437 applications, followed by Sattur (7,226), Srivilliputtur (6,501), Aruppukottai (5,760), Virudhunagar (5,182), Tiruchuli (5,071), and Rajapalayam (4,198), according to a press note.
