Girls outshine boys in Kanyakumari district

Girls outsmarted boys in Plus Two examination in all the educational districts in Kanyakumari revenue district. Of the 24,472 students (11,240 boys and 13,232 girls), who took the exam, 23,419 (10,449 boys and 12,970 girls) passed it in the district.

According to sources in Education Department, of the total number of 221 schools, 64 – 14 of the 58 government schools, 12 aided and 38 private schools –achieved cent per cent results.

District ranks

Three students from Alphonsa Matriculation Higher Secondary School and one each from Hebron Matriculation Higher Secondary School and SRKBV MHSS, bagged the district top ranks.

C.J. Jevis Rich of Alphonsa Matriculation HSS emerged as the district topper with 1,182 marks. A. Derins Abisha and P. Shruthi Sahana of the same school shared the district third place with M.A. Leena Begam of SRKBV MHSS, Thuckalay, by securing 1,180.

N. Thajesh Ram Nanhaa of Hebron MHSS, Nagercoil, bagged the second rank in the district with a score of 1,181.

Toppers in govt. schools

M. Jaya Shree of S.L.B. Government HSS with 1,146 marks emerged as the topper among government school students. G.A. Anjitha of Government Girls HSS, Marthandam, bagged the second rank with 1,144 marks and J. Khadeeja of same school stood third with 1,139 marks.
